day seventy three, color club revvvolution

alright here is where i rain on the color club parade again. color club looks awesome in my bathroom where i have bright bright lights......but color club and london grey weather just don't work. it must not be bright enough in london because i can never bring the holographic colour out. i really WANT to like this colour, a black holo sounds amazing! but it just doesn't work. i've never seen the stunning sparkle on my hands that i see on other swatches. it's sad :(

I know I've commented about this before, but this is one of the reasons I subscribed to your blog about 30 seconds after finding it - your pictures often show what the nail polish is going to look like under more typical conditions. A lot of polishes that have so much shimmer and life in bright sunlight look flat under the less intense lighting conditions under which I live most my life.

I do love the "beauty shots", but I really value the "real life" pictures because I am tired of being disappointed with nail polishes because they're not as shiny or sparkly as the pictures online. (OPI Ink, I'm looking at you.)

I'm sorry you were disappointed in this one!

It's so tough. If I lived somewhere with ridiculous sunshine 24/7 I'd probably have a different opinion...but I judge polishes the way they look at ALL times not just when the light is right. Some polishes (OPI Designer Series, China Glaze Kaleidescope) are visible and shimmery regardless...I just don't find that same quality with Color Club!

Try Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm. It is really holo on me and only £3. Not saying it'll show up in photos but on your nails it really is spectacular.
