i've actually had this polish for around...6 months? at least and i've just never gotten around to wearing it. i even gave it away in my 100 followers giveaway because i unintentionally bought two bottles! but yeah. i don't know why i never got around to it...i love purple but it just kept getting pushed aside for something else! anyway, it's a really nice medium purple with a lovely shimmer. i don't always remember to let my nails completely dry before i go to sleep so the polish on my ring finger is smudged. oops!

today's polish is exciting because it is unexpected. i have been sitting on this colour, 'bronze star' for ages and just haven't gotten around to wearing it. i felt like i was wearing copper-esque colours nonstop and just wasn't feeling it. so i put it on and i can't believe i waited so long!!! not only is it really pretty but it's really interesting. the base colour isn't just some orangey brown it is actually filled with pinkish red tones to make it so much more complex!!! it also has gold shimmer threaded throughout and it just glows on your fingers, it's SO pretty!!!! i am really pleased with this one!

day two hundred and six, diamond cosmetics mystical knights

okay. this is a weird one only because it was the wrong polish for my mood or day. does that make sense? sometimes you put on a colour (or even an outfit) but it just isn't what you thought it was. that is how i feel about this colour. it's a deep blue and it just didn't wow me.

ah so here are my teeny tiny stub nails! there's something i adore about a blue on short nails. it's just so eyecatching!!! this is 'metallic blue' by diamond cosmetics...and it is, well...a metallic blue! a great, vibrant blue!

ahhh i'm late!!! it's 12:37AM in london, crap! been distracted today, steve was home ill and his monitor is broken so we've been busy all day watching friends and goofing around, hence why this is late! plus i've been trying to catch up on the olympics and write more job applications (boring!) and watching every episode of friends ever aired.

anyway, this GORGEOUS AMAZING WONDERFUL SPECTACULAR (can you tell i really like it!?) is called 'cherry tobacco' and it is by diamond cosmetics. i feel like i need to apologise to diamond cosmetics, i bought this colour and thought it would be great and then i saw the bottle and just thought it would look terrible on me...and NOW i am eating my thoughts. it's AMAZING. i LOVE it!!! it's a vampy red/black shimmer and it's spectacular. great application, never looks black, it's like a burning ember, it's soooo gorgeous and amazing.

the best part about this...it's only $2!

a moment of silence for the tragic death of AMQ. a living legend's journey has ended.


a bit of a sad day (AMQ + i didn't get that job) so a brief one. diamond cosmetics "dirty & flirty" is a really nice golden-sand shimmer. a great neutral with a really beautiful finish.

it never hurts that diamond cosmetics only charge $2/bottle.

day one hundred and forty two, diamond cosmetics hue are you

here is another one to continue my OBSESSION with diamond cosmetics. isn't it pretty!?!?? it's a red/bronze with a strong gold shimmer/glow effect called 'hue are you?'. STUNNING. AMAZING. just sooo pretty. it's a nice way to have a red but turn it bronze and make it bold and feminine and attractive and i adore it!! the shimmer is super obvious (which pleases me) and i just really like it. what's not to like about a polish that costs $2!?

day one hundred and thirty two, diamond cosmetics joust for kicks

here's another stunner from diamond cosmetics. i have not been disappointed with any of these polishes in my collection (which makes sense...why would i buy a polish i don't like!?). joust for kicks is a warm brown with really strong gold shimmer. it's really beautiful. i'm happy i'm learning to love brown but now i feel obligated to space them out appropriately because i don't like disaplying the same colour too many days in a row! the first couple pictures show the brown and the rest of the colours really let the golden shimmer shine through. i also used china glaze 2030 as a stamping polish with one of my konad plates. normally i would show my hand non-konaded and THEN konaded but this design isn't that distracting and doesn't cover up the whole nail. i'm quite pleased with it!

okay! adding the commentary now that yesterday's migraine is thankfully history!!!


i know. i love diamond cosmetics. they're just amazing!!! BUT i did place an order for some bb couture nail polishes over at www.overallbeauty.com so i will have a new brand to debut in a few weeks while it wings its way across the atlantic. this is part of the whole...smoked out trend. it is like orbis non sufficit except a different shade of green and this has a definite antique golden shimmer running throughout. i know it almost looks grey...but i promise it is a dusky green. there has been NO sunshine in london the last 48 hours, very dark and rainy so i held my hand next to a lightbulb and this was the closest to accurate i got!

as always, a great colour and only $2/bottle

day one hundred and thirteen, diamond cosmetics seafoam spray

as we say in the UK, 'Happy Crimbo!' to those who celebrate, and happy friday to anyone (like me) who doesn't! my boyfriend celebrates christmas so i go along with it because it is important to him. he and i will be making our first ever christmas dinner by ourselves (usually we are at his parent's house in Gloucester) and i'm a bit nervous! so this is my 'Christmas' manicure.

this season (in the 'nail polish world') mint green has been HUGE. i mean...HUGE!!!! i only own two mint ones, peppermint pattie (by MAC) and this colour, seafoam spray by the ever fantastic diamond cosmetics. i'm going to keep pimping this brand until the day i die, $2/bottle just blows me mind (especially after i spent £15 on a bottle of Nails Inc polish and was incredibly disappointed). the biggest mint green of the year has been 'Jade' by Chanel. this colour never came to the UK (but you can technically buy it on ebay...though i would recommend against it as you are going to pay at least £90 for it...and don't give in to scalpers people! don't encourage them no matter how much you want it! i know i've never seen jade in person..but nail polish is just NOT WORTH £90! [okay...rant over!]). so even though i haven't seen Jade i do feel like this one comes pretty close. the main thing that all other mint greens couldn't capture was the subtle shimmer of Jade. and while this doesn't have a subtle shimmer it has a really pretty gold effect that is definitely visible. it isn't just a plain mint green like Peppermint Pattie (or it's dupe, MintGreen by the awesome BarryM). it has something special to it. it's very pretty, very soft and kind of reminds me of pillows...even though i've never seen a pillow this colour. it's just a really lovely colour!! it's eye catching and not garish..just really soft and beautiful!
