day two hundred and forty five, rimmel london (60 seconds) coralicious

so this isn't the first quick dry rimmel i've tried, there was funtime fuchsia way back in the beginning. i feel like i've learned a lot about nail polish and myself since then. this is one of the few times i'm going to focus on the polish brush. i tend to leave it out as it is only relevant to me if it really helps or hinders the polish application. or in the case of certain polishes...the brush/stem is just odd and merits a mention (think full sized Nailtini polishes with the incredibly long stem from the handle to the bristles). this is one of those times. i honestly don't remember my opinion of the "Xpress Brush" but i have one now. it's marketed to be a 1 coat brush, it isn't as wide as the OPI pro-wide brushes but it is definitely wider than usual brushes. it was this kind of weird consistency, the individual bristles didn't separate as they went onto your nail (and not that they should) but it sort of spread in a weird way, it was like there was something gelatinous all over the brush and so it just seemed weird when i was applying it. also i felt that the short stem from the cap to the bristles made it MORE difficult to control the polish application. sometimes i feel that a short stem gives me great control but this is not one of those instances. it is also worth nothing that the brush is tapered on both ends to be a bit more rounded at the bottom.

all in all, it isn't a bad polish or formula. i did not find it to be a 1 coater but for a ~£3 polish it certainly isn't shabby. it was a really warm orange based coral (unlike the red/pink coral of rescue beauty lounge) and seemed really great for the sunshine while it lasted. it isn't a bad polish but it doesn't really merit a second wear, i think i'll just find another orange based coral that i like better in application.

also to celebrate the sun (while it was here) i used white konad polish and a flowery design and put it on the ring finger nail on both hands. but i messed it up when i put on topcoat which is visible in closeups...it looked good from far away!

I have this, but an older bottle without this type of brush. It's definitely not a 60 sec mani though! This is a great summer colour.

I am wearing a Rimmel 60 seconds at the moment. Green with Envy.

I absolutely love it. It went on in 2 coats like a dream and is a really cheering teal shimmer with tiny sparkles when you look really closely. I had no trouble with the brush. Coralicious looks great but I don't think I need it. Especially as I have just put in orders for £30 for Barry M and Star Nails. Hm.
