day one hundred and two, sparitual muse

okay. today is the 3rd of my 4 sparitual polishes. i think this is the first golden polish i've actually truly enjoyed wearing. i LOVE my metallic colours but for some reason gold has been a problem child. it is always delicate and i mess it up with my overzealous gesticulations and quick typing. sparitual's muse is a bit of an antique looking gold with a lovely shimmer (that i CAPTURED! yes!!!) and seemed way more durable. or maybe i just waited longer to do anything so i didn't mess it up, but i do'nt really think i did! another rave for the grippy handle, it fits nicely into my fingers and the polish bottle isn't so round i can't hold onto it easily (i don't know about anyone else but i hold my polish bottle in my hand and paint the other hand...it's just how i roll).

anyway...i am pretty satisfied with sparitual as a brand. the colour selection seems nice and i have yet to have any major problems with the ones i've purchased. i do wish their UK website selection was better. it's still kinda pricey and i'm not 100% sure it's WORTH the cost. for some expensive polishes (rescue beauty lounge, lippmann collection) i don't mind paying a hefty price tag because the polish is out of this world. sparitual is nice...but not blow your mind nice. i will have to acquire some more eventually to get a better opinion!

day eighty seven, sparitual stiletto

here's another from sparitual. i still adore the bottle handles...but some of the images i saw of this colour (not swatches but like...like colour whirls to demonstrate the colour) were WAY off base. i thought i was getting in for a deep dark red...and instead i got a more...pinkish red. i was hoping for another 'blackened' type colour (think zoya blair) because i just looooove how it looks. rather dark on the sides and full colour blast in the centre.

been on a bit of a red kick lately and i definitely prefer chinoise over this colour for my cherry reds. this is more pink whereas the RBL chinoise was a true true red. i tried to show some of teh subtle shimmer on here...but as usual...i failed! i've emailed a few other nail bloggers to ask how they bring out teh shimmer in all their images. though sometimes they bring out shimmer i never saw. so in that respect i like my pictures because they are very true...not full sunshine or flashed out (unless i'm trying to show something) what you see is what you get. and i think that helps in some cases...like with color club. beautiful images from others...but in my non-bright sunshine life (pouring rain all day in london today!) i don't always get that so. yes, enough of my ramble!

i definitely prefer can you digg it? over this one. i have...2 (?) more sparituals in my collection so we'll get to those eventually! i have some different things coming up, and hopefully a way to make this blog more interactive...or....something!

thank you for reading, 40 people...WOW!

day seventy six, sparitual can you digg it?

so here is a new one by the brand sparitual. and not that it's actually new but more like...new to me. i've seen a lot of swatches of sparitual polishes but i've never actually OWNED any myself! so i went to their website and picked out 4 (? i think it was four) polishes and they recently arrived!

this one is called 'can you digg it?' and it's a beautiful brown/gold colour. definitely one of the most brown polishes i've ever owned (and you all know i'm new to brown as a nail colour that i like) and it's beautiful. very antique-y and pretty. good application, nice pigmentation...i was really pleased. the selection on the UK portion of the sparitual website didn't have a ton of polishes which is why i only picked up the 4 but i am really happy with this one. it has some gold tones and a bit of a mild shimmer that i couldn't really capture but it just adds warmth and dimension to the colour so it isn't flat or boring! i hope you like it as much as i do!!
