day two hundred and forty, rescue beauty lounge coral

i think one of my favourite parts about nail polish is how the same colour can be interpreted in so many different ways. i've shown you a few different corals already, some are pink, some are orange, some are peach...and today's rescue beauty lounge coral is nothing like the ones i've shown you already!

i'm a huge art fan but i lack any real artistic talent myself so i like to express myself with different nail polishes and i think i can safely say i have one for every mood.

this is a gorgeous reddish/pink leaning coral and might get tacked onto my mental list of interview appropriate colours. it's way less neutral than the ones i usually wear (namely Lippmann Collection "Secret Love") but it's pretty, feminine and doesn't detract from your image...if anything it just subtly enhances it! i think i could talk until i was blue in the face about how much i love rescue beauty lounge and i still wouldn't be done. the woman behind RBL, ji is so focussed on her customers and the value of her product...there aren't a lot of brands i would pay $18 for and not grimace, let's face it, it's a LOT of money to part with. i haven't made a RBL purchase in a long time...not since the trio of blogger's polish. partly because i already have all the RBL i want and also because of cost. i'm doing a lot of swapping instead of buying lately, i had to work really hard to find a job in this economy and it's not even a full time one. it is hard to cut back on luxuries and nail polish is one area i've had to cut back on (amongst everything else). but needless to say that i have been setting aside my pennies and the second the surf collection is back in stock i'm pouncing on it!

i love the glossiness found in ALL rescue beauty lounge polishes, i love that they apply smoothly and never drag around my cuticles and never have bald patches.

in closing...it's WORTH the money (provided you have it to spare! i know i have to remind myself that it is just nail polish...and sometimes other things take precedence.)

enough seriousness, onto the POLISH! (picture heavy!!)

day two hundred and twelve, rescue beauty lounge om

so i had a job interview for a full time position (i only work part time now...fingers crossed!) and i chose to wear what is actually my interview staple colour...i just haven't worn it in ages because i spent so many months waiting for my visa from the UK government so i could work legally as a US immigrant! man. that took ages. anyway, this is possibly my most worn RBL shade and my favourite neutral of all time. it's very close to mannequin hands for me but it is distinctly different enough from my skin tone to be (in my opinion!) very flattering. it's this gorgeous soft almost cooked salmon pink but way less whiteish pink. it's not the most interesting colour but it's just soothing and PRETTY. sometimes i really like putting something on my nails that makes me look nice but doesn't detract from something else (like my shoes or top or something). it's great for work or even fancy parties where you need a simple nail. i know this polish won't go out of production anytime soon...if ever, but i still feel like i need 5 backup bottles (even though i'm only about 1/4 through this originally purchased one!) just in case. it's that reliable and wonderful!

day one hundred and sixty three, rescue beauty lounge stormy

don't forget to enter my giveaway where you can win TEN bottles of nail polish!!! (if anyone is wondering how i'm conducting it i'm checking all your entries, putting them into a spreadsheet and then randomising the list so everyone has a fair chance, i am then going to go to random.org and let it pick the winning number for all 3 prizes! the winner will be chosen in 6 days)

perfection. that is rbl polishes in my opinion. they are always flawless in shine, opacity and ease of application. if anything is worthy of it's hefty ($18) price tag...it's rescue beauty lounge. i know i can't wait to get my hands on the spring collection...thankfully i've got almost every RBL polish that i am interested in from the current line so in theory i won't break the bank (but in application...we'll have to wait and see)

stormy is a fantastic blue-grey creme with a slight hint of green. it boggles me how you can get so many variations into one colour...i know my crayola crayons as a child didn't have these complex hues! this is also RBL with no topcoat, they're so deliciously shiny it's unreal. if only i could get my hair to be as shiny as these polishes i'd be in the professional hair shaking business (to attract people with it's shine as it is reflected mid-shake of course!). i'm feeling a bit goofy today so it's reflected in my words. this polish is another 'applied like cream cheese' polish (i know it won't catch on over saying something 'applied like butter' but dammit i like my version better!)...the perfect consistency for maximum coverage. the overwhelmingly amazing thing about RBL polishes is that their cremes (i think i only own 2 non cremes...under the stars and scrangie) are all 1 coaters. i like to apply 3 coats but there is just no need with these. i usually do two just to be safe since i have a tendency of knocking my hands about while the polish is still drying...but if you are looking for the perfect stormy day grey...this is your winner!!

day one hundred and fifty three, rescue beauty lounge glamorpuss

in honour of national wear red day (supporting heart health for women) i picked my favourite rescue beauty lounge red, 'glamorpuss.' trust the bottle colour, for some reason it keeps appearing way lighter on my nails (in photos) than it actually is!

glamorpuss is a fantastic blood red creme. i know everyone says that things apply like butter (or 'buttah' heh) but i'm sick of hearing that. so as far as i'm concerned...this applied...like CREAM CHEESE. delicious, thick and melty and fluffy and light and the perfect consistency. completely opaque in two coats (but i still did 3 out of habit). it's also worth nothing that i am NOT wearing topcoat in these pictures. that is how shiny RBL colours are, isn't it fantastic!?

the last picture of my thumb is the most accurate. this red is blood red, dangerous femme fatale red...on the prowl red. totally stunning and demanding, you can't ignore this colour. it means business! (i hope it's going to become your favourite RBL red too!!!)

day one hundred and thirty, rescue beauty lounge teal

okay. this is 'teal' by rescue beauty lounge and like all RBL cremes...it's fantastic and only needs 1 coat for perfect opacity. i love all the colours that ji baek creates, they're so unique. this is definitely not my idea of teal...i always thought of it as bright and very green and this is dark and much more blue. really unique and pretty. it was hard to get the green to show up (truthfully...it seems more blue than green!) and there isn't really a lot of sunlight in london at the moment. it seems bright but then it isn't really the right KIND of light for accurately capturing colours. i don't think i've ever come across a RBL that i haven't liked or found really original!

oh and i put a konad on my thumb with my purple sparkly konad polish!

day one hundred and nine, rescue beauty lounge orbis non sufficit

so finally...here it is, the 3rd of the 3 rescue beauty lounge blogger created polishes. again...it's a fantastically pigmented creme. this one is from [former] polish blogger polishaddict. i say former because she became a lawyer and got very busy so recent updates are far and few between. even so...she is still one of my favourite bloggers and definitely deserving of this honour she, scrangie and michelle (alllaqueredup) received!

orbis non sufficit (or...the world is not enough, polishaddict is a big bond fan!) is definitely an original colour. it's a dusky, grey-ed out green. completely unique. i don't own, nor have i ever, seen a polish like this. it's like someone took the colour of evergreen and then shrouded it in fog. stunning!

day ninety seven, rescue beauty lounge starfish patrick

here's a rescue beauty lounge polish that i don't hear about too often called starfish patrick (spongebob!). it's a mellow cantaloupe type colour and is pretty jelly-like....you can see hints of the whites of my nails in the photos. i bought this awhile ago and i think maybe i was more tan at the time? i'm pretty pale right now and i'm not sure this is as flattering as it maybe once was..? it's still a nice neutral. rescue beauty lounge do shades for all occasions...neutrals/calm colours for professional or people who prefer more basic colours annnnd then a whole collection of reds, blue/green...i couldn't be happier.

it's also worth nothing that all of these photos are done without a topcoat. sooooooo shiny!

(but i think i'll put this one away until that long far away day i get a tan)

day eighty four, rescue beauty lounge chinoise

one thing rescue beauty lounge do tremendously well is cremes. the application is always flawless, extreme pigmentation and a depth of colour often not found elsewhere. this is one of their many shades of red...i think i have 3 or 4 polishes with only the slightest variation in colour but it makes all the difference and they are each standouts.

unfortunately this ended up looking a little pink...in truth is a very bright red, not pink at all!! i swear i thought these pictures looked more red on the camera itself!

i have also stuck on some stickers given to me by the lovely people at nailene. i don't really know what to do with stickers...one nail? every nail? i just kinda guessed and put them on all except my thumb at all different positions on my finger. i will say that taking off the stickers is a bit more annoying than putting them on! still not quite sure how 'me' they are (maybe if they were skulls and graves instead of flowers??)...but i'm happy to try them out.

happy thanksgiving to all my american readers! as an american living in london thanksgiving is the holiday i miss the most! my mum is a fantastic cook.

day sixty two, rescue beauty lounge mismas

this is the first time i will ever (and probably the only time!) say this...but this polish is completley opaque in 1 coat. this is only 1 coat!! i've never had that happen before, i'm absolutely gobsmacked. annoyingly enough i could not get this colour captured accurately without turning the flash on. it's a real true purple creme that is extremely pigmented. this is the 2nd of the 3 blogger polishes created by rescue beauty lounge and 3 different bloggers. the first one, scrangie was created with blogger scrangie. this was created with the founder/author of all lacquered up called michelle mismas. hence...the title mismas! i really like this colour in general...but i just wasn't really feeling it once i put it on my nails. i guess i'm just not feeling very purple right now? i have a LOT of purples and i'm a bit purpled-out at the moment. so maybe a purple break is in order!!

the non-flash pictures are completely inaccurate. if you want to know the colour refer to the flashed out photos!
